The playing of Richardeau undergoes significant metamorphosis as unfolds. In between, the group covers considerable territory, at times mining the hard bop vein, and in other moments breaking into free form interpretations of folk melodies. As an example of the depth (or identity crisis) of the band, Brunard chords like Jerry Hahn on the bop tunes, while growing less and less pristine in his picking as the session progresses.
