Tommy Flanagan, pianist 'extraordinaire', dedicates this album to the great Thelonious Monk (Who wrote all the composition except for the title tune) and to their common friend, the gracious Baroness Nica de Koenigswaerter - hence the title Thelonica. The village voice counted this excenlent production among the 10 best records of the 80's, a grammy nomination followed.
